Last week I had the opportunity to join Lily and the rest of the kindergarteners on their field trip to the zoo. We had a really fun day! The absolute highlight of the day for Lily HANDS DOWN was riding the school bus. She had never ridden the bus, and she was so excited she was counting the days.
She told me on the way to the zoo that she'd been to the zoo "a hundred times", so the bus was WAY cooler. On the way home she decided that she didn't even need to sit with mom any more. I am already uncool, and she's five. Boy am I in trouble! Our little group enjoyed the pachyderm show. And of course, we all had to play the bongo drums.I loved this baboon! She just sat and put her hands on the window, and the kids would put their hands up to hers on the other side of the glass. She sat there for the longest time, it was like they were having a little upspoken conversation that I wasn't in on.
All in all, we had a great day. I was exhausted! I guess chasing five and six year olds at the zoo is good exercise!
